Autumn MTB and Gravel Bike Ride

Last Sunday was the autumn ride for the MTB's and gravel bikers of RTC. On the original date of October 5, the weather was even too autumnal for the fat tires, but on Sunday the tour could still be ridden.

A nice, large group of 21 members got into the saddle to cycle a nice 62 kilometers round. Through Deurningen, they drove above Oldenzaal to eventually stop halfway at the Lutterskwartier in De Lutte for well-deserved coffee with pastries.

After the break, the outer area of De Lutte was explored and the sun also appeared. Arched the route towards the border, but stayed within own country borders. Through the forests and paths of Twente Airport, Hengelo came into sight again to finally get off the bike satisfied.

Humidity was mostly felt on the trails, but fortunately it didn't come from above. It was a very successful trip, with a good exchange of the forest and the gravel roads.

Sterkr Tour 2025

Are you also participating in a MTB or Gravel bike tour organized by RTC Hengelo? It's possible again on Sunday, November 23. Then RTC organizes the annual Sterkr-Tour!

For MTB riders there is a 40-kilometer route and for gravel bikers the 60-kilometer route (and can also be bicycled by MTB). There will be plowing over the Lonnekerberg, buffaloing through the forests of University Twente and for those who cycle the long route, there will be the beautiful Waterlöp, cycling across the Twentekanal through the green Twekkerloo and Boeldershoek.

Short or long route, everyone is welcome! On the way there's a break place and a cup of steaming soup is waiting for you at the finish!
